PEACE
A REFLECTION in Music and Prayer:
Lord, make me a channel of your peace…
but how can I say that,
if there is someone I am not at peace with?
I think of them now, and ask God to bless them.
As I listen to the music of The Watermark,
can I continue to think of them and
slowly pray the Prayer of St Francis?

Lord, make me a channel of your peace,
that where there is hatred, let me bring your love;
that where there is discord, I may bring harmony;
that where there is error, I may bring truth;
that where there is doubt, I may bring faith;
that where there is despair, I may bring hope;
that where there is darkness, I may bring light:
and that where there is sadness, I may bring joy.
Lord, grant that I may seek to comfort, rather than to be comforted;
to understand than to be understood;
to love than to be loved.
For it is by self-forgetting that one finds.
It is by forgiving that one is forgiven.
It is by dying that one awakens to eternal life.
There are many places in the world
where there is no peace,
Think of the countries that are in the news today
because there is no peace.
I pray this World Peace Prayer for them
and then read it again, praying for myself.
Lead us from death to life
from falsehood to truth
Lead us from despair to hope
from fear to trust
Lead us from hate to love
from war to peace.
Let peace fill our hearts, our world, our universe.
